At Traverse, we see serving as a natural part of our faith journey. Your commitment—whether once a month or more—helps our ministries thrive, and makes an eternal difference as we serve people we serve God. None of what we do would be possible without our wonderful volunteers, who in so many ways, serve, lead, and love others—and live out our core values—Open the Door, Give It Away, Run With Scissors, and Enjoy the Journey.

We’re grateful for your willingness to share your time and talents as we grow together and serve God’s people. Check out the current ministry needs below and let us know where you’d like to get involved—we’ll be in touch!

The Communications Team shares what’s happening at Traverse in clear, creative, and meaningful ways. Our goal is to keep our church and community informed, inspired, and connected. Every story, image, and design helps show how God is moving and inspires others to love and serve in His name. Volunteer opportunities are flexible—many can be done from home and on your own time. If you enjoy design, photography, social media, or using your creativity to reach people, we’d love to have you on the team!

Every Sunday, our Greeter Team creates the first impression of Traverse. By smiling, shaking hands, and learning names, they live out our value to Open the Door—not just to a building, but to belonging. A friendly face can soften hearts and remind guests that church is a place for everyone. Greeters make the gospel tangible from the moment someone walks in.

From brewing coffee and preparing communion to creating a welcoming atmosphere, this team helps people Enjoy the Journey. Every cup and every smile says, “You belong here.” They embody generosity by giving away comfort and kindness—reminding us that small moments of care can have eternal impact.

This team extends the reach of Traverse far beyond our walls. They Give it Away by making it possible to share every service with people at home, across the country, or even across the world. Through technology and excellence, they Open the Door for connection, ensuring that no one misses the opportunity to encounter Jesus.

The moment someone turns into our lot, this team begins the ministry. They Open the Door long before guests reach the front entrance. Through waves, direction, and joy, they transform asphalt into ministry ground—proving that every act of service, even in a parking lot, can prepare hearts for worship.

Prayer is the heartbeat of everything we do. This team stands in the gap for others—believing, listening, and interceding. They Run with Scissors in faith, boldly asking God to move in ways only He can. Every whispered prayer helps fuel the mission of Traverse and connects heaven to earth.

Our Security Team quietly protects the peace that allows worship and ministry to flourish. They model Give it Away by serving selflessly—often unseen but always essential. Their calm presence creates a safe environment for families and guests, allowing everyone to focus on connecting with God and one another. Security team members are on-site during Sunday services and several other events as needed, as part of the emergency response plan. Instructions and training will be provided.

Our Children’s Ministry is growing and we’re excited to invite you to be a part of it! Whether you love teaching, music, welcoming families, or working behind the scenes, we have a place for you. Each role plays a vital part in helping children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. If you have a heart for kids, a love for Jesus, and a desire to help kids grow in their faith, we need you!

Your involvement makes a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of our students. It's an incredible opportunity to be available and willing to pour into our students during this fun and important time in their lives.

SUMMIT
Middle & High School Students
Summit is a community where every student belongs and grows. We welcome you as you are — but love you too much to let you stay that way. Through real relationships, Christ-centered friendships, and intentional mentorship, we help each other take next steps toward Jesus. Grounded in God’s Word, we grow through teaching, serving, retreats, and honest conversations. At Summit, we climb together — learning, serving, and becoming more like Christ with every step. SUMMIT youth group meetings are held on Sunday evenings.

SWITCHBACK
5th & 6th Grade Students
Switchback is where the adventure of faith starts to climb higher. It’s a fun, welcoming space for preteens to ask big questions, build friendships, and take their next steps with Jesus. As students move from kids’ ministry to student ministry, we help them navigate the path with confidence. Through engaging lessons, caring leaders, and real conversations, Switchback helps preteens build a strong foundation — preparing hearts and minds for the climb toward Summit. SWITCHBACK meets on Sunday mornings during church services.

Our Worship Team is a community of servants who use their gifts to lead others in genuine, Christ-centered worship. We believe worship is more than music—it’s a lifestyle of humility, excellence, and surrender to Jesus. We pursue skill and creativity not to perform, but to honor the One who deserves our best. Every rehearsal and service is an opportunity to grow in both our craft and our walk with God.

We’re learners, not stars—striving for excellence to inspire authentic worship. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, our goal is simple: lead with humility, serve with joy, and direct all glory to Him.

Trailblazer Academy provides faith-based childcare for children ages 6 weeks through 13 years. With a team of passionate educators and a faith based curriculum, they build strong foundations for growing in faith and in lifelong learning. Through classroom support, kitchen help, playground supervision, and more, volunteers help children grow in faith, knowledge, and confidence. Every act of service—whether from parents, grandparents, students, or anyone with a servant’s heart—makes an important and lasting difference in the lives of our Trailblazer kids and families.
